Thyroid diseases like goiter are one of the leading diseases in the world. These are more likely in women than men, due to hormonal as well as lack of health care or maybe lack of iodine quantity in their body.

The thyroid gland is one of the largest endocrine glands in our body.it is a butterfly-shaped gland present below the larynx and consists of two lobes on either side of the trachea. it synthesizes the hormones that help our body.
Hormones secreted by them:-
1.Thyroxin t4
2. Thyroxin t3
3.Thyrocalcitonin
• Among them thyroxin t3 and t4 are amino hormones I.e derivatives of tyrosine amino acid
•Thyroxin hormone formation requires the main constituent is iodine
•The major form of thyroid hormone in the blood is thyroxine (T4), which has a longer half-life than T3.
•In humans, the ratio of T4 to T3 released into the blood is approximately 14:1. T4 is converted to the active T3 (three to four times more potent than T4) within cells by deiodinases (5′-iodinase).
•These are further processed by decarboxylation and deiodination to produce iodothyronine (T1a) and thyronamine (T0a). All three isoforms of the deiodinases are selenium-containing enzymes, thus dietary selenium is essential for T3 production.
•Thyroid gland also produces thyrocalcitonin helps in calcium metabolism
• Thyroid hormones mainly help to regulate body metabolism.
• so that it also helps in maintaining the same body temperature every time.
• Thyroxin hormones also regulate BMI(body mass index) essential for body metabolism.
•The thyronamines function via some unknown mechanism to inhibit neuronal activity.
• A normal hair loss is also linked to thyroid hormones (t3 or t4).
•Normal hair growth cycle may be affected by disrupting hair growth.
• Thyroid gland releases thyrocalcitonin used in calcium reabsorption to the bone and strengthens it.

DISEASES OF THYROID:--
•HYPOTHYROIDISM:-- It is a clinical syndrome caused by the deficiency of thyroxine either t3 or t3 or all of them.
It can be treated by injecting thyroxin directly into the blood I.e,intravenous injection.
● It is caused by an inability of the thyroid gland to secrete a sufficient amount of thyroxin needed by the body,it is also caused by less amount of iodine in your diet.
symptoms:
- Fatigue
- lethargy
- Feeling cold
- Delayed puberty in males and females
- Unexplained weight gain
- Slow heart rate
- Enlarged thyroid gland
- Sexual dysfunction etc
HYPERTHYROIDISM:-- it is a clinical disease caused by over secretion of thyroxin into the blood,it happens in times like formation of tumors in the thyroid gland.

•it is also called as "graves disease", "exophthalmic goiter", "Basedow's disease".
symptoms:
- Extrusion of eyeballs
- Enlargement of neck
- Unexplained weight loss
- Hand tremors
- Anxiety
- Increased heartbeat.
- Irregular menstruation in females
- Nervousness
- Diarrhea etc.
• Its probability in men is about 0.2% and in women is about 2%.
•By this you can understand that it is more prone to women than men, so women should be more careful always.
You have to know something more important is,
• women suffering from hypothyroidism, if want a child, I suggest not to take that decision without treatment, because the children born with hypothyroidic mother said to be suffered from cretinism, means he/she born were likely low in height like dwarfs and suffered from low IQ power, it is called congenital hypothyroidism, it is asymptomatic for several weeks after birth. So be careful!
• HASHIMOTO DISEASE:-- It is an autoimmune disorder in which the thyroid gland is gradually damaged by our internal immune system called cell-mediated immunity. so causes death at a younger age.

Luckily we can prevent these diseases attacking us by following these suggestions below!
TESTS FOR THYROID:
- T3 OR T4 OR TSH TESTS
- THYROID ANTIBODY TEST
- ULTRASOUND SCAN
- THYROID SCAN
- RADIOACTIVE IODINE UPTAKE TEST

PREVENTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN:
• Take only iodide salt in your dishes(adults need 150 mg a day).
• Do exercise regularly every day because the body needs physical activity to increase the metabolic rate effectively thereby thyroid becomes healthy.
• Do not drink the high ranged mountain water directly when you go to a hilly place, it's one of the reasons to goiter occurs in people living in hilly areas. (hilly water doesn't contain essential salts.)
There is no more to follow up, I think you may feel it as a bit, but be careful it may bite you away if occurs.
Are you going to follow up on these suggestions? If yes! Bravo! You got a low chance of getting thyroid-related diseases.

theory is good, but it can be improved further, keep it up
